1, Convert the following sentences as directed:
(i) Aradhana said she could carry all the books. (Direct Speech)

(ii) Reema said, "I drone the bike."
(Indirect Speech)
Reema said that she had ridden the bike.
(iii) Hari said he would come the next day.
(Direct Speech)
Ans. Hari said, "I will come tomorrow."
(iv) I haven't seen Pragya. (Indirect Speech)
Ans. He asked if I had seen Pragya.
2. Correct the following sentences:

11. Translate the following into English:
अधोलिखित का अँग्रेजी में अनुवाद कीजिए :
प्रतिनिहित दायित्व के सिद्धान्त को दण्ड विधि में लागू करना आवश्यकता से नहीं किन्तु समीचीनता से प्रेरित कहा जा सकता है । ऐसे दायित्व के सिद्धान्त को दण्ड विधि में लागू करने की बुद्धिमत्ता पर सन्देह और बढ़ जाता है जबकि यह अनुभव किया जाता है कि ऐसा आपराधिक दायित्व थोपा जा सकता है भले ही अभियुक्त को अपराध के किए जाने का कोई ज्ञान न हो अथवा उसने उसको निवारित करने का भरपूर उपाय भी किया हो । व्यक्ति को अपने अधीनस्थ सेवक तथा अभिकर्ता के किए गए अपराध के लिए उचित रूप से दंडित हुआ कहा जाता है । क्योंकि ऐसे दण्ड की धमकी से वह तथा अन्य व्यक्ति अपने अधीनस्थ सेवक तथा अभिकर्त्ता पर देखरेख करने को प्रेरित होगा ।
12. Translate the following into Hindi:
अधोलिखित का हिन्दी में अनुवाद कीजिए :
In ancient period, we know only crimes arising out of greed (gold ), lust (women) and land. But now such crimes have been relegated to the category of traditional crimes. In modern age newest crimes have appeared. These crimes are committed by persons belonging to the higher social status by beguiling people, practicing fraud, misrepresentation, by adopting other known or unknown ways to a mass money by fair or foul means. Such newest crimes are termed "white-coller crimes".
13. Comprehension:
Rights and duties are two sides of the same coin. One can't exist without the other. Duties without rights are mere slavery. Similarly, right without duties amount to law lessness. In any civilized society, rights and duties must go side by side. But in today's world, everybody talks much about his rights. There is a great hue and cry if our rights are infringed. But no body seems to bather much about his duties. That is why there is great unrest in our present day life. Actually duties come first, the rights after wards.
(i) Why there great unrest in our present day life?
(ii) What do you think, comes first …… rights or duties?
